17th AVE – COMPLETE!

Another project completed and on the market! You might remember me introducing 17th Ave on my blog about a month and a half ago and since that time, the home got a full overhaul. It received a new roof, new dual pane windows, fresh paint, a custom gate and fencing, extensive landscaping, new flooring, added a fireplace, new fixtures throughout, new cabinets, marble countertops, stainless steel appliances… And that was just the main house. In the back, we finished the guest house with new electrical, new plumbing, raised the ceilings, and reconfigured the entire space so that it offers a formal entry, full bathroom, full kitchen, and still has room for more. This guest house really helped complete this property and it’s a huge selling feature because whoever buys the property could actually rent it out to help cover their mortgage. Here are a few of my favorite AFTER pictures!

Throughout the project we worked to make modern updates while maintaining the home’s original charming details… Did we succeed? Check it out and let me know what you think! Sometimes it’s hard for people to remember what the home looked like before, which is why I always love putting photos together of the BEFORE & AFTERS.  MY FLIP TIP: One of my favorite transformations from this project is of the door knobs – We kept the original hardware and my wonderful mother refinished them… They look great! THANKS Mom! Whenever you’ve got a historic house, do what you can to maintain it. It’s hard to replicate that kind of character and when it’s done right, it can make a great impact on the house!
